Historic England

Historic England grants help fund the care of historic places, including buildings, monuments, and landscapes, as well as projects that enable people to understand and champion their heritage.

Grants are typically between £1,000 and £500,000, covering areas such as repair and conservation, heritage at risk, and community engagement. The Repair Grants for Heritage at Risk scheme is open throughout the year, with no fixed deadline.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund

The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people to the UK’s heritage, with grants from £10,000. The National Lottery Heritage Grants programme awards funding of up to £10 million to all types of heritage projects in the UK, including not-for-profit organisations. For grants under £250,000, there are no application deadlines; applications are assessed on a rolling basis with decisions typically made within eight weeks of receipt.
